Tattoos are among the most personal and permanent pieces of art, so when somebody asks me to design one for them, it’s always an incredible honor. This particular piece was designed for an old high school friend, who reached out after seeing some of my work on Instagram (who woulda thunk). He wanted the tattoo to represent his favorite childhood place, his grandparents’ lake house, in a geometric-landscape style. While designing, it was important that I kept the actual tattooing process in mind, in order for the client’s skin to display the optimal color and line work. In the end, it was down to the tattoo artist to make the design come to life and he did an absolutely fantastic job. My client and I were both ecstatic with the results.
